The Sevilla plant has been manufacturing gearboxes for over 60 years, for Renault, Dacia, Nissan and Daimler. It currently covers 33% of Renault Group’s requirements and exports 80% of its output to many Renault Group-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance plants around the world.

DB35 hybrid gearbox m approval manufacturing for Sevilla
The Sevilla plant got the green light to start full-scale production of the new DB35 gearbox on 10 February 2023. This gearbox equips the Clio, Captur, Megane and Arkana models in Renault’s E-Tech line-up.
OUR HISTORY – BACK TO THE KEY DATE:
1966: Renault acquired ISA, a gearbox manufacturer, and set up the Sevilla plant.
1983: Started JB 4/5 gearbox production, opened Sevilla 2 plant.
1990: Started JB 0/1 gearbox production.
2001: Began spherical differential casing production.
2003: Converted the assembly line to handle both JB and JH gearboxes.
2005: Started making the TL4 gearbox (the first Renault-Nissan Alliance gearbox).
2008: 50th anniversary of gearbox production at the plant.
2010: 20 million gearbox milestone.
2011: Started manufacturing JH base gearboxes; broke a production record (1 million gearboxes in a single year).
2012: Opened new crankcase machining line.
2014: Got go-ahead to produce semi-robotised JE3 and JS3 gearboxes; opened new training centre.
2015: 25 million gearbox milestone.
2016: Signed Renault España Industrial Plan; announced new projects (Tx30 and Tx26).
2018: Got green light and started producing Tx30 (TL6) and Tx26 gearboxes.
2020: 30 million gearbox milestone.
2021: Announced plans to make two new gearboxes in 2022 and 2024.
2022: Started up the Sevilla Factory to refurbish passenger cars and manufacture gearboxes for hybrid cars.
2023: The Sevilla plant became part of HORSE on 1 July.
